For anyone obsessed with champagne, a visit to Champagne at least once in your lifetime is a must. Yes, there is a lot you can learn through reading books and online articles, but nothing quite compares to walking the villages and vineyards of this magical place.
My amazing trip to Champagne ended with 5 days in Paris before I headed home, and it wasn’t all about Louis Vuitton and Ladurée … I have some fabulous champagne finds to share with you.
After a few incredible days in Reims it was time to move on to Epernay. As I’ve mentioned before, getting around proved to be expensive, the distance between Reims and Epernay is about 30km and taxi’s wanted around €85-90, but I managed to find an Uber for about €55. I had booked an Airbnb in central Epernay on Rue du Général Sarrail, about a 15 minute walk from the start of Avenue de Champagne where you will find some of the most iconic houses of Champagne.

It seems like ages ago that I sat here in Reims, and yet it was only last month. A few weeks before this, I realized I had not been to the region in almost 2 years and thought I would just out of interest have a look at ticket prices, and before I could even blink, the ticket was booked.
Seriously, make this your first stop when visiting Champagne, and thank me later. I tried getting to Perching Bar on a previous visit, but ran out of time, so it was the very first thing I did when I arrived in Champagne last month.
