Having been to Champagne many, many times I always try to stay somewhere different each trip. I’ve stayed in luxurious boutique hotels, corporate hotels, gorgeous Airbnb apartments, and even in a budget Airbnb when I travelled solo.
This last trip, we wanted to be reasonably central, so chose the Hôtel Continental right on Place Drouet d’Erlon in the heart of Reims. Drouet d’Erlon is a vibey walking street where you will find many restaurants and bars and you really can get more central than that. If you are arriving in Reims by train, it is only a 200m walk to the beginning of Pl. Drouet d’Erlon where Hôtel Continental is situated.
Hôtel Continental is a 4* star hotel that was fully renovated in 2018. It has 52 rooms across 4 different room categories and rates start from as low as €155 per night. They do not offer complimentary on-site parking, however, right below them is the public underground parking garage if you are travelling by car, and parking there cost us about €16 per day.
Rooms boast all the usual amenities as well as free wi-fi. There is also a small onsite fitness centre, as well as a meeting room. Have a look at the different room categories here.
I can highly recommend having at least one meal at the Continental Restaurant, we had one or two dinners there during our stay and both were superb. They also have limited seating outside for when it’s a gorgeous evening, just a few tables so if you want to be seated there, reserve your table in advance. And they have some really nice options on their champagne list.
The inside section of the restaurant overlooks both Pl. Drouet d’Erlon as well as Colbert Square and has a very stylish bar for pre-dinner cocktails. You can have a look at the different menu’s here.
The Continental Hôtel is a really good option if you are looking for something central that also won’t break the bank. I really enjoyed our stay there.
